The Project Pearl

 

​Project Pearl International is the umbrella group for the existing Filipino-Icelandic Associations and Filipinos who have no affiliation with any of the existing associations in Iceland. Its primary function is to assist, coordinate, work together, promote and help pool resources on special projects and other activities which could not be done alone by any of the existing Filipino associations. Foster a sense of one Filipino community among the Filipinos living in Iceland.

Initiate social events by organizing get-together parties, participation in the cultural activities for the Filipino community and the host country as well. Bringing people and services together. Above all, do charitable endeavors.

 

As part of ENFiD.org - EUROPEAN NETWORK OF FILIPINO DIASPORA, our work is guided by  seven fundamental principles; love, humanity, impartiality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.

 

 

 

Vision Statement

 

We see a dynamic and vibrant Icelandic-Filipino community that is recognized and valued as an integral part of Iceland's ethnic diversity.

 

 

 

 

Mission Statement

 

Our mission is to preserve, advocate and continue the Filipino heritage among our members and the general public through cultural, charitable and educational activities.

CULTURE: We want to showcase the Filipino culture by participating in multi cultural events and other activities.

CHARITY: We have initiated fundraising programs to help children in remote parts of the Philippines by putting up mini libraries, sponsor a yearly JLU-JLK feeding events, organized missionary volunteer teachers to a mission trips-by teaching Biblical courses as well as courses in practical mission work. Every year,  and through our sponsorship and giving initiative provides support to small christian and cultural group and teaching students the Philippine culture and of ARNIS-our traditional martial art of the Philippines.

JLK-JLU: Jesus Loves Kids-Jesus Loves You Mission--The unity and diversity of culture and volunteerism that we provide is almost endless, whether its a charity or philantrohpy-- the experience is our passion. Charity is giving…philanthropy is doing.

EDUCATION: We have coordinated with Filipino mother tongue program by volunteering as teachers for tagalog and cebuano languages to Filipino children to understand their mother tongue and with Filipino mother tongue program by teaching Filipino children born in Iceland their mother tongue. PPi volunteers also participates in Mother Tongue Seminar to support the idea of formal mentoring and to take advantage to meet other groups who are deeply committed and passionate in giving every child a proper training and teaching.
